BEGINNERS MAKEUP KIT

Makeup is definitely a fun and a great way to express yourself but we also know that if you’re beginners, it may seem a little too intimidating because there are so many products and new launches every month. Everything is advertised as a must-have but what really are the essentials? We are here with this week’s blog to help you guys with just that.
Here are some multifunctional essentials everyone should include in their makeup bag.
1. CC Cream
It is the base for the face. Foundation can be intimidating if you are just dabbling your feet in the makeup game. The shade, the consistency, and the finish can all be a little much for your understanding you are starting out. CC cream is great for beginners and an amazing alternative to a foundation. If you are a beginner, you want something that is build-able and easy to work with.
CC creams rarely look cakey and even if it is not your exact shade, it is much more forgiving than a foundation. And trust me, finding your right shade when you’re a brown girl can be really tough. CC creams also most of the time have a very natural finish so you don’t look overdone even you did overdo it a little bit.
And once you are accustomed to CC cream, you can gradually move onto foundations.
2. Kohl Pencil
We have all worn kajal at some point in our lives. Some love it, some don’t. If you’re a beginner, I am sure you’re both intimidated and envious of the winged eyeliner. Trust me, even with practice, there are days when my wings are distant cousins rather than sisters, let alone twins. We all have those days. But getting back on track, I always suggest a well-pigmented kohl pencil to any beginners asking me for tips on their wing liner.
Kohl pencils are multi-functional - they can be used on your waterline to create more drama around your eyes, they can be used as a liner on your eyelids, you can smudge it out to create a subtle smokey eye look ( don’t go overboard, otherwise you’ll end up looking like a panda) and once you are comfortable using the pencil, you can even use it to fill in your eyebrows.
3. Compact Powder
This is another product for your base makeup. This may sound like a very auntie thing to carry with you but trust me this is essential. On days when you don’t feel like putting on makeup but you still want to look a little more put together, you can always top off your moisturizer or sunscreen with a light dusting of your compact powder and you’re done. It gives you more of a cushion foundation look and this is much more natural and takes little to no effort but still gives you better look.
If you are on the oily side of skin type or just prefer a more matte look on your face, you can top off your foundation or CC cream with compact powder or just dab it onto your t-zone when you know you’re gonna be outside for longer or be in an area where you’ll sweat more. It will help minimize the sheen of sweat and you can easily reapply it as you go about your day when you feel like you’re getting more sheen on your face.
4. Mascara
This may look a little intimidating at first but trust me, this is a must-have. Even when you don’t want to wear liner or go overboard on your eyes, wearing a coat of volumizing mascara can make your eyes look bigger, brighter, and more open. It highlights your eyes in the best way possible and still keeps it natural-looking.
Mascara can also be used as a multifunctional product. It can be used on your eyelashes to make them look longer and more in volume but it can also be used lightly on your eyes brows to accentuate your brow hair and set them in place.
5. Colored Lip Tint
Lipstick is a must-have in every makeup kit be it for beginners or pros because your makeup look is incomplete without lipstick. I still remember when I had an event to attend and didn’t have much time in my hand, I would just put on lipstick and be ready to go. But when you are a beginner you would always want to have some colour on your lips as well as look natural. Then tinted balm is your saviour.
You can wear it whenever you want - to college, to parties and even to the office.
But the best part is, you can use the lip tint in 3 ways - lip tint, blush, eyeshadow.
Whenever you use your lip tint, put on a bit of the tint on your apple of the cheeks and on your eyelids. This also reduces the time you take to do your makeup.
6. Eyeshadow Palette
Although I just gave an alternative for eyeshadow in the above point, I would still recommend an eyeshadow palette that has neutral colours as well as some shiny colours. Neutral eyeshadows can give you a natural look.
Again this product does not have a single-use. You can use it as a contour as well as a highlighter.
The brown in the neutral shades can help in contouring and get you the sculpted look. The shiny colours can be used as a highlighter. It’s a 3 in 1 product.
7. Moisturiser
Most of the beginners just wash their face and start applying makeup which is a big NO-NO. The makeup can clog your pores and may give rise to acne. So in order to save yourself from acne and acne marks, always put on some moisturiser before applying makeup.
A moisturiser helps in hydrating your skin and also does not allow the makeup to penetrate the pores of your skin. It may not give you the effect of primer but for a beginner, you can surely replace the primer with a moisturiser.
Before buying a moisturiser, make sure it matches your skin type or else the moisturiser will be the reason for the outbreak on your face.
8. Makeup Remover
How many of you have at least once not washed your face and removed your makeup before going to bed? I’m gonna say that I am guilty and I have slept many times without removing my makeup. I am pretty sure most of the people out there have at least once not washed their face and went to sleep. And guys this is unhealthy. Most people dont even own a makeup remover.
I know after a tiring day you would want to just go and lay on your bed for eternity, trust me I have been through that, but removing makeup is an important step or else you are gonna wake up with your makeup smudged all over your face and at least one acne on your face.
Have a makeup remover in your kit because it just not helps in removing makeup, it also helps in correcting your makeup. If your eyeliner on each eye dont match or you dont like the eyeshadow that you have just put on, makeup remover comes to the rescue.
